![]() ![]() ![]() Lets say your putt is 40ft away, the green by you is flat for 15ft, then there is a steep hill fir about 5 ft, and the last 20 ft is slightly up, with some left or right movement. It can drastically affect how your ball travels because a slow ball will curve more on slanted terrain. Note: Knowing how fast your ball is traveling at certain points is also important, especially if a small steep hill or bump is involved. For example, a 10 ft putt that is 5 inches down, using my method would have your cursor at 6ft, but depending on how curved your putt line is could change that distance to 5ft or even 8 ft. Note: Extremely short or long puts are a bit different, especially with elevation variations. If my read and speed are correct I can make 60-80+ft puts pretty regularly with difficult terrain. The difference between me choosing 1ft and 2 ft is a bit complicated for me, but one generalization is that if the hole is lower than your only add 1 ft so it doesn't roll too far. I also add +1 or 2 ft to my shot because I would rather go in a little fast and end up 3-6ft past the hole, going fast also reduces the amount the ball is affected by the green. For example, if the read is 40ft and 8 in up you place your shot at 40ft+8ft = 48ft. We start at the 40 ft and, like a hint in the game suggests, increase or decrease the distance 1 ft for every 1 inch up or down the hole is. It's a very small adjustment, but important. What is important is the angle the line hits the hole, you imagine the tangent of the circle and use where the line intersects it perpendicularly. If the line hitting the hole is in the center you are done, but if it is to the left or right of the center I move my cursor that direction 1:1 for the distance it is off center. You will have a good look at the hole, but you want to raise the camera so you are looking down on it. Take your cursor back out to the initial read, 40ft in this case. Place your cursor exactly in the center of that line. Hit (Y) to look at your shot, and zoom in as close as possible. Next I take the cursor as close to myself as possible. Lets say the marker starts at 40ft, if you put the cursor on the hole it might only be 38ft, you want to use the 40 ft for the put. Often times it is slightly further than the hole. I used this and my putting is great now! "My approach When you first start the put remember the distance that your marker starts at. These are not my words, but someone else. ![]()

![]() ![]() It is very important to remember that, if the conditions are right, dust can be a food source for mould and mildew, leading to an infestation which can weaken and irreversibly stain books and paper. Alternatively, if you just want to measure humidity, you can buy a humidity dial (hygrometer).Ĭheck and clean your books regularly, as dust can quickly accumulate on books. If you are sufficiently concerned about the conditions in which your books are being stored you can measure them by acquiring a portable electric thermohygrometer, which can give you accurate digital readings of temperature and relative humidity costs range from £20 to £80 for basic models. Wherever possible try and keep the room temperature within the range of 16☌ to 19☌ (60-66☏) if you can measure relative humidity, it should be kept as constant as possible, within the range of 45% to 60%. It is important therefore to avoid storing books in damp conditions to prevent spores of fungi (mould and mildew), which are always present in the atmosphere, from blooming on your books.īooks should be kept away from sources of moisture and condensation and from water pipes in case they burst or leak. However, a low temperature in itself does not hamper the growth of mould. If the room is too hot and dry, leather bindings can dry out and crack books should therefore be kept as far away as possible from heat sources such as radiators and fires. Try to achieve a constant temperature and humidity within the book storage area and ensure that there is a regular circulation of air - a cardboard box in the attic is not usually the best location to store valuable books. Taking the following basic steps should help preserve your books. The temperature and relative humidity in a room where books are stored are also very important. Two factors can improve environmental conditions for your books:īooks should be stored away from direct sunlight, which can bleach spines and paper and can lead to an increase in the acid content of paper. Pulling a book by the top of its spine to take it from the shelf will damage it - as will leaving it face down and open for any length of time. ![]() Do not pack the books in too tightly or the covers will be damaged when you attempt remove books from the shelf. ![]() Other books on shelves should be kept upright at 90° to the surface of the shelf and should be supported on either side by books or book stands of similar size, to prevent the covers becoming warped. Large heavy folio-size books are best stored flat. Remember that books printed from the mid-19th century onwards are usually printed on mechanical ground wood pulp paper, which often has a high acidic content and can quickly become discoloured and brittle if not kept in the right conditions. The UV map defines how a texture is applied to the model. In the Minecraft art style, this solution is preferable to using many small elements to depict the same object/parts of an object. Small parts of an object can be depicted by a single large element with certain pixels strategically being fully transparent. Minecraft models utilize planes (elements with only 2 faces) and transparency, often together. Examples of this principle can be found throughout the game (barrel, cake, log, grindstone, pumpkin, melon, cocoa pod.). The kite flyers create lift, drag, and thrust with various walking patterns, arm movements, and spinning to make the indoor kite flying experience like a dance. But what do you do if you don’t have any wind or you’re trying to fly your kite inside? Check out the video of this national champion indoor kite flyer from the family day. Wind is obviously a big part of kite flying. ![]() Lift must be equal to weight and thrust must be equal to drag. To keep a kite flying steady the four forces must be in balance. To launch a kite into the air the force of lift must be greater than the force of weight. Drag is caused by the difference in air pressure between the front and back of the kite and the friction of the air moving over the surface of the kite. Drag is the backward force that acts opposite to the direction of motion. An airplane generates thrust with its engines, but a kite must rely on tension from the string and moving air created by the wind or the forward motion of the kite flyer to generate thrust. Thrust is the forward force that propels a kite in the direction of motion. The force of weight pulls the kite toward the center of the Earth. Since the speed of the air above the kite is greater than the speed of air below, the pressure above is less than the pressure below and the kite is pushed into the air and - Tada - lift! Weight is the downward force generated by the gravitational attraction of the Earth on the kite. ![]() Daniel Bernoulli, an 18th century Swiss mathematician, discovered that the pressure of a fluid (like air) decreases as the fluid speeds up. Kites are shaped and angled so that the air moving over the top moves faster than the air moving over the bottom. Lift is generated by differences in air pressure, which are created by air in motion over the body of the kite. Lift is the upward force that pushes a kite into the air. Lift, Weight, Drag, and Thrust) affect kites in the same way they affect airplanes, and anything else that flies. The kite pivots and dives about the point where the bridle connects to the control line. In flight, the kite is connected to the kite flyer by the control line, which is connected to the kite by the bridle. The bridle and the control line help the kite flyer control the kite. Paper, fabric, or plastic is then stretched over the framework, turning it into a sort of wing. The framework is usually made from a lightweight material like wood or plastic. The kite body is made up of a framework and outer covering. Most kites have three main components: the kite body (which comes in many different shapes and sizes), the bridle (or harness), and the control line (or tether). A kite is a heavier-than-air object that flies… just like an airplane. To understand how a kites flies, you need to define what a kite is.
